Dedicated Night vision variation

Folks, has anyone recently been approved or disapproved having
a dedicated night sight rifle and having a similar caliber for
day time use.
Reason being ive had a variation refused because I asked for
another rifle for dedicated night use and because I had one of a
similar caliber they've refused it

I can't see why they would refuse it. It is in my opinion
unreasonable to put a pest controller in a position whereby they
must re-zero their rifle each and every time they change optics.
You could argue that the optics should not loose zero, but even
the best optics in the world are prone to being mounted in a
different position than they were previously.

Im going to argue the case. There are loads of shooters out
there with two rifles with one dedicated nv. I have two weeks
to appeal it

Get the appeal in asap and have a word with BASC and/or your FEO
about the situation. There are loads of certificate holders out
there with two of the same caliber rifles for different
purposes. It can't be one rule for one and a different rule for
another. It shouldn't have been refused in the first place. I'd
love to know the exact reason as to why it was refused.

Ive been waiting 2 weeks for the letter of intention to refuse,
with the exact wording on it but it has to do with having two
rifles of a similar caliber.

Shouldn't be a prob I know a few fellas with 2 .22lr!! Other
option is put one down for target practice!!

As long as you have a valid reason they can't refuse anything
(within reason). Don't forget that apart from having a dedicated
nv set up its always a plus point to have shared ammo; eg having
a .222 and a .223 in the cabinet can be a recipe for disaster,
etc. when you appeal out every single reason down you can think
of and fully explain them. They tried to limit me to one shotgun
on my first fac (instead of two shotguns and a 22lr). Turned out
they hadnt really read my application or references as they
tried to say I'd no previous firearms experience ::) I think the
word "snotty" would best describe the 3 page letter I sent them
back advisin them to reread my application and going full
explanations for what I wanted and why I wanted it. All 3 guns
were granted a month later.

Yep its been refused again. They say as I want 2 rifles of a
similar caliber. One being a .204 and one a .22-250!! That
convenience is not a good enough reason for two rifles.

thev'e got to be fucking kidding what is this are we only
allowed 1 child per household now. if that's what they are
saying you might have rewrite your explaination then. how can 1
person get 2riffles and another cant

I would tell them if they want to play like that that's ok and
put in for a bigger rifle!!
