Stock refurbishment

Hi Guys Can anyone recommend someone local who can refurbish a
shotgun stock?
I have 'the family heirloom' tucked away but would like to see
her back to former glories.
I have had the gun serviced and she is in good working order
apart from a few dents and scratches in the walnut.

It's not that hard to do just time consuming-you could get a kit
and tackle it yourself!!

That's the boys I had been looking for-seen them on eBay b4!!
Depends on condition on stock but think its a few £100 to get it
done!!

I've done a few, not Purdeys though. It's easy enough and very
rewarding to do yourself. A few things I have learnt if you want
to avail.
1. Get a Gunsmith to dismantle it.
2. Buy Nitromors stripper.
3. Do NOT use sandpaper.
4. Do use very fine wire wool.
5. Pay careful attention around the diamond checkering.
6. Use an oil finish not varnish to finish.
7. Enjoy it and take your time, especially building up the oil
finish.
8. Get a Gunsmith to reassemble it.
There's more of course. Dings and minor scratches are part of
the gun so don't try to clean the wood to perfect finish. Many
refurbishments are ruined by heavy sandpaper especially around
the diamonds.
