       YOUR DOG!!!!!!!!
Over the last couple of outings I have noticed my springers
really slowing down after about 3 hours on rough ground. Is it
just down to being unfit after the summer off or is it something
I should be concerned about. I have thought about maybe changing
their diet to something better. I am currently using "feedwell
supreme". They were on the maintenance type through the summer
but were changed to supreme at the end of september.
You can find the details here
  HTML http://www.feedwell.com/products_supreme.html

Do you think this food is up to the job or what are your
recommendations or do you think diet has anything to do with it.

Imo feedwell is shit , I can really notice the difference when
       my lurchers are on it...
For a good cheap dry food try gain 20 or 28 or even a mix of the
       2 ..
But if you work your dogs hard get them on a barf diet

I feed mine raw and she would go all day ... Tried dry food
wouldn't eat it the one she did eat she was like a rat on speed
and started scratching . For me raw is best

Raw/barf diet is quite cheap to feed to especially if your
shooting stuff you can feed ...

there was a greyhound feed i used 2 feed my springers think it
was elite or sumthing like that it seemed 2 give them more go in
them although im now on feedwell sport but they get 1lb of raw
minced chicken mixed in with it which consists of carcuss,
necks, wings, feet and thigh dogs love it plus its cheap its £1
       for a 5lb bag

My dad used to keep Greyhounds and fed them on tripe and a bit
of dry feed, when we were getting them ready for racing always
got them a bit of red meat into the diet, not too much. Seen a
wee bit more fire in them and a bit of extra sheen in their
       coats.

I don't know what my dogs would be like after 3 hours huntin
cause they'd be miles in front of me lol but even now after an
hour & a half my dog would tire out, if he's huntin flat out
which he does 1.5 hrs covers a lot of ground, my dogs fairly fit
as he's out every day most of the year round but heavy cover
takes it's toll on the best of them.
I've tried a lot of dog foods over the years and I still find it
hard to beat Wagg for huntin dogs, I found a great deal on
Amazon a while back where I get a 17kg bag delivered once a
month for £9.50 ! so I'll never run out and If I've too much I
can ring hold a bag back for a month, my dogs love Wagg they
never leave any, it gives them a good coat and keeps them firm
       and easily cleaned after .

Wouldn't feed wagg if I was getting it for free ... It's just
all cereal which is a filler dogs get no goodness from it ...
Honestly the best food is barf , but if that isn't an option try
a good quality dry feed where the main ingredient is actually
meat , you'll see a world of difference in your dogs ...
Tripe is just a filler meat , there ain't a lot of quality
goodness in it but mixed with chicken beef etc and veg it seems
       to keep the dogs happy

Changed off feedwell about 6 months ago for all the same reasons
as above. Feeding nutrabite now with salmon oil dressing and a
bitr of tinned dog food to sweeten the deal. Dogs are thriving
on it and near eat the dish as well!
Anybody know any good supplies of barf foods..........tried to
get a steady supply of green tripe a while ago - f**kin
nightmare - youd think you were tryin to buy heroin or
       sumthin!!!
