Ammo for .17hmr

Hey guys, I'm using Hornady V-Max 17 gr rounds thru the .17 and
unless I get a head shot or a good engine room shot they don't
seem to be heavy enough for the foxes. Is there anything heavier
that I could use with the .17 to keep them down 1st time ???
Shot 3 the other night and two of them took 2 shots each... I
know I should place the shot better (engine room) but sometimes
they are lamp shy and you have to take UR chance and get a shot
off before it runs...
Another option is a bigger toy, maybe a .223 or .222 but I'm
working with the .17hmr in the mean time to see what santa
brings...
I guess U can't shoot wi socks or aftershave... cos thats all
santa brings... Lol

20 grains are a bit better but you'd be safer with a bigger
calibre, I found the same with foxes, don't always have the time
to line up the best shot, so I went for a .222

+1 to what Babby says. I've had more than enough runners with
17hmr.
CF is the way to go for foxes mate.

Shot two with the 17 in the last week using hornady 17g. Had to
use it because my 223 needs zero'd. You need to keep range well
down compared to a CF rifle when using them or just wait for
another day and dont take the shot. If ya can, get a CF rifle
and problem solved.

your a scud i went out last night a got 2 of the 7 i seen and
both ran away only to find them this morning with the dogs one
was hit in the chest at 85 meters he ran 50 meters the one got
into a ditch and died only about 10 meters away from were she
was hit both using v max
