A wee catch in the foyle.

I just thought i would post up a picture of the tope i caught in
the Foyle on a Day trip with The Causeway Lass. roughly 35-40lbs

It did indeed and one point I was going let go of the rod as it
was nearly pulling me overboard lol! I didn't noticed the
strike! I thought it was the boat that past us disturbing the
bottom.

Dead is the preferred method! I used a full mackerel from from
the bottom. Large baits beats the dog fish etc.

Alot of luck just mate as there wasn't much technique used. I
left it to drift out just.

My biggest catch before this was a large shark about 10ft long
but broke off under the boat as it came alongside(thank **** as
I didnt want to take the hook out of that monster.) got a 14ft
Porbeagle in a drift net 30 yds off the beach couldnt even lift
it!!!

Biggest one I ever saw was a 1000lb+ tuna jump about 30ft away
from the boat off Malin Head, now that was a fish !! It made the
500lbs ones jumping all round us look like goldfish!!
