Finally

Well finally got out lamping 2nite-wanted to try my new lamping
bag 2! Headed to my own yard first and my big plot of ground
(2.5 acres). My ground was clear but shone into the neighbours
field only to see 6 sitting so got of 2 shots with 2 thuds and 2
in the bag.
Unfortunately things didn't keep up that pace! Headed to ground
another neighbour rents as hd had all the cattle of it. (The
ground around home had cattle on it but there's 300 acres in one
block to shoot in a few weeks) Got to the next ground and the
fella the neighbour rents the ground of had decided to put his
own cattle on the ground (have your cake and eat it type of
thing) so that was that ground finished.
Headed to another farm then tho the farmer had told me the maxi
had hit them and there was a young fella or 2 had been shooting
from time to time but he told me to come on anyways. Headed out
with the lamp and talk about lamp shy-I turned the lamp on and
about 30 rabbits cleared! Think the young fellas are scaring
instead of shooting!!
So in short 2 hours 2 shots and 2 rabbits although I am very
happy with lamping set up now!!

Came of the ever faithful eBay Michael! It can be a belt bag but
comes with a strap so I wear it over my shoulder. Leaves it very
easy to take all of to mace between ground. I find it wild handy
to as carries the battery plus a small torch along with all
leads and filters. Also has space for carrying fac and some
ammo!!

Lamp shy is hateful Adrian. If I give the young cubs a few weeks
they will back of then Ill start going out with lamp a few
nights but not shooting to try and get them used to the lamp
again!

We thought we were only people on the land until we spoke to the
farmer lol. There's a gun club up that way and lots of shooting
going on. That explains the nervous wee feckers lol. Alot of
foxes and buzzards about too soo anything that moves they are
off like a shot. Very easily spooked.

Good work............... It's always good to come with something
in the bag.
Might be worth trying a red or amber filter on your lamp. I've a
bit of ground that a young lad runs his dog over, under a white
lamp. Like your's,any time they see a white light they clear,
leaving it very hard to get a shot. I switched to a red light
and it doesn't seem to spook them just as quickly.

believe got 2 nights out in a row 2!!
Bsaozzy we will have to get out a night some time soon givin
your only down the road!! What you shooting with these days?
Flatliner I always use a red filter on both the lamp and the
torch as like you say spooks everything plus if there are houses
nearby it doesn't annoy them as much! Tried everything last
night but nothing was working-must have seen about 50 we white
tails running away!!
