2 way radios review

Lads I was given a set of 2 way radios from a m8 of mine and I
thought they would
come in handy for work and shooting.
Maxon 5w uhf hand held radios.
Think their in Maplins for £150
Very small hand held radios. Claim to go 15km in city use and
25km in country use.
I talked very clearly with them from Saintfield to Carryduff
(6mile apx) clear as a bell.

Snap, I believe those sets require a license to operate. They're
not like the PMR 446 sets that you see for sale in various
outlets.
Worth checking out for your own peace of mind.

Who did you apply to for the licence snap? I've been after then
4 years now but never knew where to get licence from or which
sets I needed to buy!! We use cb radios in tractors but only
good for short distance with no obsticsls and have wild amount
of interference from other users 2!

I'd imagine they'd be very handy especially for stalkers to keep
in touch in hilly areas. That's where the PMR types are a bit
limited.

when I used to work on the doors we used light weight 2 way head
sets, I bought a set of these for myself so we could use them in
the forests huntin for woodcock, they were a great job makin
sure we stayed in line and didn't get lost

I got my licence from Patterson electronics in boucher road.
They took my details and they sorted it. I dont now if it can
be done online o not. I know most 2 way radio shops keep
em.
