Hey sheriff welcome along. Yea there's no reason why you
shouldn't-it's quite easy now. You will have a 6 month probation
period put on your licence where you will have to shoot with an
experienced shooter but apart from that you should go fine!
Never shot a 455 but at £400 and never been out (I assume it's
been used in a range?) sounds good value to!

Does that mean I cant go out on my own for six months, and the
rifle has never seen a field or range it was put in the safe
from day one, think he only got it because he could there is
also a load of ammo with it

Yep means you won't be able to out on your own for 6 months
after the date the cert was signed!! I would say your onto a
good bargain by the sounds of it-generally it £600 for the
rifle!!

You'll get 6 month probation where you have o be supervised by
someone who's held the same calibre rifle for at least 3 years,
but nothing major. One thing I would say is to read up as much
as you can about gun safety and te capabilities of 22lr rifles.
Sorry dont know what experience you have so I'm not putting you
down, it's just that the more competent and knowledgeable you
are about the calibre you want then it's easier to get it ;)

I didn't even realise when I got my licence I had a 6month
probationary period until a year later when I sat down and read
my license.
Out of sight out of mind and be smart when taking shots (proper
back stops etc)
