as title says i d a lucky escape today while out shooting, after
finishing the morning flight we seen alot of pigeons flying so
m8 headed and got a hole load of cartridges he had laying around
,well after lifting a couple of hand fulls in the pockets i went
down to the duck hide on my own while m8s went to another, after
about 20 mins i fired at 2 pigeons hitting first and second
sounded different , how anyone that knows me iam half deaf
anyway but this just worried me i loaded the gun again sat back
down and thought about it then lifted the escort semi auto and
unloaded it i tried looking up it and could nt see light so
being lazy i blew up the barrel rather than looking down it ,i
could not blow up it and then looked up and could not see
anything it was dark so walked up to car and got my old hide
pole out and pushed it up the barrel out came the fibre wad and
a cardboard wad aswell these had only went 6 to 8 inches from
chamber before sticking ,if i had not checked properly lads its
not worth thinking about, after speaking to m8 he said they were
from last years pheasant shoot and were put into a bag wet and
throw into cupboard in spare room come his gun room now he lives
in old mill house 2 up 2 down type needless to say all them
were put back and lesson learnt lads be careful, i was so lucky
