pups first water retrieve today

I was out earlier dogin in and givin the dogs a run the wee pup
was mad keen to get retrievin Bud's dummy so I gave him a go and
to my surprise he went after it but he couldn't get his mouth
around it so he trailed it back, I got him a light weight puppy
dummy that he retried perfectly a couple of times, one of those
retrieves fell into about 10" of water which wasn't a problem so
I thought I'd throw one into the water about 6ft out were it was
about 3ft deep well he went mad to get after it but stopped when
the water hit his belly then with a bit of encouragement tellin
him to fetch it up out he went straight to the dummy now
considerin the only time he'd been in water before was when he
fell in when I was fishin I couldn't believe a wee pup of 3
months was swimin out in in 3ft of water to retrieve a dummy, on
his way back in he made a few wild slaps at the water but this
was because the dummy was gettin between his legs but he didn't
give up or let the dummy go he pushed on like mad to get it back
to me, I have to say it was one of the most satisfyin things
I've had with my dogs in years, he was so proud when he hand it
over and he wanted to go again but once was enough for today to
keep him keen, sorry i've no pics but I wasn't expectin it to
have happened.

class!!! it a great time of the year to be getting him used to
water as its not all that cold yet, its all in the breeding lol
