.22 rifle and shotgun on FAC application?

Im in the process of filling out my FAC application for a Ruger
10/22 .22 rifle and so far have one permission with 3 plots of
land totalling about 75 acres. I intend on shooting rabbits,
vermin, pigeons, crows, magpies, etc. Any of the
farmers/landowners ive spoken too are all recommending a shotgun
for controlling pigeons/crows as a far more effective weapon
than the rifle so this got me thinking as to wether I would be
best to get one now at the same time as im putting in for the
rifle, I had intended to get one at some point anyway. What do
you think? Is it likely that I would get permission for a rifle
and shotgun on my first FAC application? Is there anything I
should know?

Go for both at the same time, saves time and money
You shouldn't have any problems getting both at the same time

I got a 22lr and two 12ga's on my first licence 7 years ago but
it took alot of arguing with lisnasharragh, luckily I had plenty
of prior experience and my feo was a great help, I think it's
easier to get now tho
