Hi there is anyone booked in to do DSC 1 in a few weeks with
either BASC or the BDS one a few weeks later. If so how are you
finding the learning for it. Also what are the prospects of
getting a bit of stalking after completing the course.

if you have permission in the north or south you dont need a
dsc1, you only need a dsc if you want to join a syndicate in
scotland etc or some estates ask for dsc.. but if you have
permission in the north or south its def worth doing,

Surely you need your DSC1 to be eligible to apply for a deer
specific calibre? Weather you have the permission or not. Is the
DSC1 recognised in the south of Ireland? Is there many deer
stalking opportunities in The north of Ireland?

I'm booked in for the dsc1 next month I also done the sacs one
about 3 years ago its all a load off crap but has to be done. I
done the sacs one to get a larger caliber to shoot goat but it
will cover you to get a large caliber for deer too if you have
the permission north or south. I am doing the dsc 1 because I
have got a bit off deer shooting over in Scotland and I need it
too shoot there. The revision isn't easy I'm finding it a bit
hard some questions are common sence but a lot aren't. The sacs
course was a lot easier.

.22 250 if you want a deer cal. the sacs course is the way to
go. i done the course few years ago, took me 2 years to get
written permission in the north i now have it, and i have a .270
for this season, i havent started yet as i have more land in the
south with a lot more deer on it and there season doesnt start
until the 1st sept,
if you only want to shoot here or the south i wouldnt bother
with the dsc1
