FEO Visit

I have my FEO visit on Saturday, just wondering what sort of
questions I should expect.
Will they be straight forward enough or are there some chucked
in to try and catch you out ;D

I have never had one of these visits in 35 years of shooting.
Do they only call to those applying for the first time for a
FAC? - or do they only call when an application is received for
centrefires?. I have a .22lr and shotgun and have now put in an
application [variation] to get a HMR, is it likely I will get a
visit now that I will have 3 guns?

They just come out to make sure you're not a complete nutter,
ask you do you have an alarm, any dogs, who lives with you etc..
If you have your cabinet fitted they will check that so make
sure it's fitted properly. Don't want them coming back out to
check that. It's a simple interview and very informal, just to
see what kinda person you are, just be polite and you'll be
grand ;D

Doesn't sound too bad then, I am not a complete nutter... not
yet anyway ;D
They did say they don't need to see my gun safe yet but I might
bolt it up just to save them calling back.
Hopefully alll will be good :)

going for a .22 for first gun. Get the safe in man n that'll cut
the waiting time down.

had visits when i first applied, any time ive moved house, and
when i applied for my hmr and .222. normally informal so be nice
and pleasant, but do keep switched on - once or twice ive had
them asking me leading questions, such as one saying he's never
seen crows sitting on the ground, so if im shooting them with a
22lr i must be shooting into the air ::) lol

Had the visit and it went straight forward enough (i think).
They did bring up some convictions I hasn't mentioned on my form
going back as far as 1994 which I had fogotten about but they
were mostly driving (fault break light, speeding etc).
Seemed happy enough for my reason of wanting a gun and my
previous shooting experience.
Also checked my safe and were happy with it.
Just have to check with my referees now and check farm I have
permission on.
They said if I don't hear anything in 4 weeks to contact them.
