anyone been out lately??

Anyone been fishing recently?? Was out a few days ago and the
was feck all showing/biting. Shocking to be honest. Was a
perfect day for it too. Was fishing in a stocked rainbow lake
(my young brother was fishing worm) and not a touch was weird.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has been catching? Thinking
of going out tomorrow.

Fishing the Moyola river and only getting wee browns at the
minute, think I will have to head somewhere else to see if there
is anything in some other rivers.

I'm going up lough ash tomorrow see how it goes. If no joy then
ill have to go to a trout farm d try and catch one lol.

Was out this evening on the lower Bann for a couple of hours
after a salmon. Hooked one fish but it got off after only a few
seconds. Changed to the dry fly just before dark and tried for a
few trout. It wasnt up to much either as a light drizzle of rain
came on and the wind rose spoiling any chance of a hatch of fly.
Got half a dozen though from 3/4 lb to 2 1/2lb. Kept a couple
for lunch tomorrow. One about a pound and the bigger at 2 1/2.
Fishing sedges to rising fish.

nice fish wc, you're very lucky to have fish in your river over
a lb ! those are two nice brownie's, are there many salmon in
the river ?

Hi semi, the river is completely stuffed with salmon, were
getting a great run which will be good for the lough Neagh
system feeder rivers. However the salmon refuse to take at the
minute. 4 rods fished the movanagher beat yesterday without a
single fish being caught, yet between the 4 of us we saw maybe
100 salmon show. Im sure there are many times that amount that
dont show themselves.

that's a big head of fish wc, I don't know a lot about salmon
fishin only fished then a dozen or so times, why are they not
takin - water to high / low ?

Everybody is putting it down to the high water temperature
combined with an algal bloom in the water. (green tint) Im more
of a trout angler myself.
