What scope are you using [HMR]

I had a HMR a few years back and got rid of it as it was just
too noisy - have used my CZ452 .22lr since. I now find however
that it would be nice to have something for the lad to carry for
the odd long range bunny or for Mr fox up to 100 yards. Was
thinking of the WMR, but got a good deal on another new CZ452 in
HMR and bought it [just about to send off variation- god knows
how long that will take!] I will no doubt have plenty of time to
ponder as to which scope to stick on it and would be interested
to hear from HMR users here as to what they are currently using
or would recommend. I have a Nikko Gameking 4-16x50 on my .22lr
and it is very good for £100 - ebay is full of secondhand
quality scopes that can be had for the same, or slightly more
money, so might look there also.

i used these on my hmr, 4-16 power, all the usual bells and
whistles but the best bit i found was a spirit bubble at the
bottom of the reticule to show if youre holding the gun level or
       not ;D

currently have a 3-9 on the gun, as ive managed to break two of
       those scopes since christmas ffs

ive a 3x9x50 leapers (proper one) which i find good enough for
the distance i will be shooting at
       got it off ebay too

It depends greatly what kind of shooting you're doing. If your
shooting is all done during daytime, then the likes of the Nikko
       will probably suffice.
If however, you intend to shoot in failing light or darkness,
you will immediately see the benefits of better quality glass.
By better quality, I'm talking Swarovski, Kahles, Schmidt and
       Bender, Leupold, Nightforce etc.
The other benefit with these quality scopes is that they track
better (return to zero after adjusting) and they hold zero
       better too.
I'd advise a second hand quality scope every time over a new
Chinese one. The other thing to consider is that a lot of the
quality ones come with a transferable lifetime warranty, so even
if you're not the original owner, you're still covered.
       Al.

I tend to shoot during daylight - late evening at most. Tend to
agree though that it's best to go for quality used as opposed to
'new budget'. Plenty of choice on ebay. Regarding moderator, I
intend sticking a Sak on it as I don't see much difference in
any of them when it comes to the HMR. I noticed from an ongoing
thread that variations etc are currently a bit hit or miss in
terms of processing times - might have longer than I think to
pick up a scope and other bits and pieces!
