       Hi folks
Just looking over my FAC and noticed words to the effect of:
Obtain written permission from landowner as in the event of a
       dispute it may be helpful.
I had asked the inspecting officer from licensing something
along those lines at the time of the interview and he said it
was a good idea to do so.
Do any of you go as far as getting this written permission or am
       I being totally paranoid?

nearly always get it, saves any hassle. look at it this way, i
guy could tell you to shoot away, then 10 mins later rings the
cops and says someones shooting on his land without permission.
       goodbye FAC :-\

I have 2 written permissions out of the 7 i have. The five
without it in writing were recommendations from one of the
permissions I have in writing. Takes some of the risk out of it,
as you are keeping within a specific farming social circle.

I agree with that, just thought I was being paranoid. I am
hoping to build a good area via recommendations from farmers and
landholders, basically on word of mouth.
       Whats the etiquette?
"Hi Farmer John, Farmer Jack says you might not mind if I shoot
over your land? Is that ok? Here sign this...!"

I usually keep it simple, either say my licence is due for
renewal and could they sign a form, or say that the cops are
cracking down and it would save any hassle if they signed a form
for me. you can print the forms out from the psni website and
fill it all in so all they have to do is put their details in
and sign it, it's easier than saying "look mate I don't trust
anyone and I'm not risking my fac til you sign this form for me"
       lol
Ps one of the easiest ways to get them signed is to say your
insurance doesnt cover you til it's signed ;)

there's also a good form on the BASC site that you can use --
       I've used it many times.
