crow shooting over standing barley

well lads i just had a phone call from the farmer saying he was
having a few crows on his barley. now the barley is about 3 foot
and still standing but patchy, he said the crows are hitting it
in the evening time. whats the best approach for shooting over
standing barley. i . e decoys. ow do i set them out? on poles?
or in the patchy bits>? i have 3 full body standing crows and
about 8 half shell flocked crows. cheers

I've always found bouncers with dead crows work a treat. They
also bring in the Magpies.

I would put them patchy bits they may be hitting it before
going to roost you may be able to get the line they are going in
or out on good luck

same as above stick them on the patchy bits and a floater r 2 if
you could manage. but can I say pick ur shots r leave for the
foxes DONT be tramping about it looking for dead birds or ull
lose ur permission the foxes will rid them up. ino some boys on
here mighten like it but you've a job to do(pest control) so you
cant be tramping bot it exspecially now when it near ready for
cutting. ps keep urself well hid and don't be moving a inch lol

Was out a few days ago got 40ish crow's 4 woodies and a magpie
my set up was 6 full bodied crow's tied on to sticks with
fishing line so they moved in the wind and a bird flapper with a
dead jackdaw on a 3 meter extendable pole to give it some height
I caple tied it to a fence post so it was almost 4 meters tall
did a great job as all the crows b lined for it before seeing
decoy pattern and coming in to land yes land not often I see
crow's land in decoys but the more I have been using the full
bodied crow's tied up to a stick fish fishing line I have been
haveing better luck

cheers for the replies lads... il put all advice together and
try it all.. thats if i head out. we are getting bad thunder and
rain here at the minute.. would that put the crows off? even if
it is a good day tomorrow would they still come into the soaking
barley? cheers

one of my best days decoying in standing barley was a day it
lashed all day real heavy none stop rain , ive also seen pigeons
feeding in stubble fields during a thunderstorm

lol fcuk that heat was wild brendy it was 30 degrees at times
lol. id rather have the frost and snow :)
