I have just bought a static caravan on the north coast.
If I'm heading up for a few days, what is the best way to store
a O/U to do a bit of shooting when up there.
       What does the law say.

I would guess it has to be the same security as at home, in an
approved cabinet which would have to be bolted to the steel
chassis of the static. Plus you would probably have to notify
police up there as well. I would advise asking your FEO
Seems like a while lot of hassle !
Or you could try and leave it into the local police station or
gun dealer in the area for safe keeping when not being used

The only other thing you could do was to store it in your car
out of sight, even achor it to an anchor point in the boot. As
the license states that when in transport it needs to be kept in
a secure vehicle out of sight. You could get a safe for your car
to store your gun in but I dunno how much they are. Best thing
to do is what Devil said and ring your FAO and ask him/her as
they would be able to advise you better

When I was building my house I lived in a mobile home for 5
years I put the gun cabinet down on its flat and bolted steel
rods through the cabinet and through the floor off the mobile
then attached steel plates to the end off the rods and filled
the whole lot in with concrete right up to the mobile floor the
police came and passed it no problem I even had a single bed on
hinges over top off it in the inside so the cabinet couldn't be
       seen.
