Pigeons on rape

Hey all, My permission has laid down a lot of rapeseed this
season as well as wheat and barley. Just want to know how many
people have had success on rape our side of the water. Last year
was the first time i have ever had rape on any of my permissions
a 40 acre field combined directly in August, however the pigeons
did not show an interest. Maybe they were still interested in
the cereal fields. Have you guys had any success on rape
stubble? Regardless I'll be paying very close attention to them
:)

Some of my best days have been on rape stubble in early august
ib both the Coleraine and Ballymoney districts. Had a good day
in sion mills a few years ago on rape. Shooting afternoons from
1-6 or 7. Never find early mornings much good.

I'm glad to hear that woodcock, keeping a close eye on it. Lots
of pigeons starting to gather on the cereals at the minute
hoping to make my first outing in the next few weeks.

2 lads shot over 200 woodies last year near me in a rape field
over 2days

I've had my best day on a uncut rape filed (87) and then several
days in 50's when the fields were cut, I'm not into shootin big
numbers as it's not easy shiftin all those birds but then I had
a dealer who gave me £0.15 a birds for them and he sent them to
France, rape for me shot best into the late evenin too but if
it's along side barley stubble it'll work mornin,noon & evenin,
find the flight line and make sure your deeks are easily seen if
the rape's not cut then you should get some good sport .
