regarding the forum

I would suggest the forum would be better off locked so that
outside non members can't just look in without joinin, a lot of
people for one reason or another will look in and read everthin
but not take part, havin to sign up to look in would encourage
new members and then at least we know who's lookin in even it
they still don't take part but if they've good intentions and a
sportin mind they'll start postin sooner than later, I'm only
suggestin this for the forum and not any part of the new site
:)

On the other hand, if non members can view the forum without
joining, it gives them the opportunity to judge whether it's for
them or not. Using your method could possible create a massive
member base, but most of them could be inactive.

yeah but the ones lookin in and not takin part are already
inactive -- this forum unlike other forums gives members an
opportunity to delete their own accounts for whatever reason, my
suggestions are from previous experience and are offered for the
good of this site.

Still think it's a daft idea. How many times have you been
looking to quickly find information on a topic or something that
you need to know about at that moment, but will have no further
use for the information in the future? Are you willing to sign
up to a forum every time, and a lot of the time find out that it
isn't what you were looking for because only a snippet of info
was displayed in the search bar? You then have to deactivate
your account and search again. Very frustrating experience.
