how'd you shoot today !

no clays for us today but pheasants instead, my Dads a gun in a
good local pheasant shoot so every other week when he's shootin
me & my son go along for a shot too, I usually pick up for my
dad until lunch time and that does it for me, we share the gun
between us startin off with my dad when he's got a couple of
shots my son gets the gun and when he's had a couple of shots I
get a go, I'd two for two today, two hens for two shots, my dad
& my son had a few nice cock birds before lunch & a jay ( I'll
tie flies with him) Usually they shoot around 100 birds between
8/9 guns every week, there's a big difference in the quality of
the birds since the start on Nov, longer tails & flyin faster,
further & higher ;D

Couple of woodcock in the bag too. What area is your shoot in? I
fired 12 shots today for 7 birds. 3 woodcock and 4 woodpigeon.

well done gettin 3 woodcock, did you see many ? the pheasant
shoot is in Gilford Castle, I'm not a member but my Father is
so me & my lad tag along for a few shots, I see enough pheasants
(& ducks) being shot at Tatyo on Fridays to do me for shooting
pheasants, I've a bit of land of my own that has a 45 acre moss
which holds an odd woodcock ever year, I used to shoot in
Clougher/Fivemiletown for many years but I'm not as fit as I
used to be so we only go up there a few times a year for
woodcock

I would be careful what you post here mate it is illegal to
shoot Jays in NI!!!
