Land info please

Hi all,
I'm a beginner waiting to see if I get my fac for my 22 Lr !! Iv
not got a lot of land prob about 80-100 acre I'm waiting to see
if I get my gun first befor getting more. I was wondering is
there any way of finding out on the Internet as to who own what
and how much ground they own some how?? So I can target the
larger land .
Any help. B great all ;D

80-100 acres is a fair bit of land to play with. As for knowing
who owns land, im not to sure if something like that exists m8.
Where bouts u from?

The size of the land isn't as important as the topography of the
land. If it undulates quite a bit, chances are there will be
sufficient backstops. If it's considerably flat, backstops are
likely to be less frequent. This could result in a refusal to
use the gun on the land if the land is deemed unsuitable. As for
finding out who owns land, you can do this online. The only
problem is that you must pay for the privilege. Just get out
there and ask around. Farms that look small could own loads of
land elsewhere.

Everytime you see a piece of land that looks attractive for
shooting your chosen quarry just go to the nearest farm and ask
who owns the wood at the bottom of the road or the barley field
or whatever it is and explain you would like to find out who
owns it because you want to shoot a couple of rabbits or a
pigeon or foxes are always a good way of getting started. I
would say 75% of time you will get permission if you go about it
the right way. Then when you get it call in with the odd salmon
or trout, a pheasant or even a box of biscuits at christmas.
Youll be sorted for life.

Thanks for the tips folks, I'm looking into insurance I think it
might give farmers some assurance

Always good to have. I wouldn't have got one of my permissions
if I didn't have it. The farmer insisted and because I had it he
was happy enough.

Just recieved my basc membership rewenal today. It was £68 payed
in 4 quarterly installments of £17 by dd. Its much more than
just insurance though. I noticed that they are doing a
concession for anyone not working (on job seekers allowance) who
will pay just £30 for full membership. Good for anyond who has
lost their job.

£68 for BASC, rather expensive in comparison with other shooting
groups, i pay £42 per annum, is there any benefits (extra) with
the BASC for that price woodcock?

SACS for me and my son full cover for £30 with the same
insurance cover as BASC
