Been watching woodies feeding like mad on drilled barley and
wheat around dundonald area has anyone else seen this. I am
talking hundreds of birds. Dont know who owns the ground though
but have seen people shooting the area in previous years. Would
be a good spot for four or five guns there is acres of the
stuff.

personally I wouldn't want to be shootin any pigeons at this
time of the year as they are pairing up & nesting and possibly
already have eggs, I know they are a pest/vermin to farmers but
as a shooter I wouldn't shoot them now, I suppose it's a
personal thing.

Anybody shooting pigeons this time of year should be ashamed of
themselves. Birds are carrying to young.

Yo yo hold on a minute ashamed of themselves...... they can be
shot all year round vermin control. Crops get destroyed at this
time of year. If a farmer wants rid on his ground well I am
happy to oblige. If crops are in shortage later in the year
prices go up in supermarkets etc. So then the gurning begins
when prices go up. Do you feel the same towards fox hunting if
they are feeding there young. Its swings and round abouts. But
saying for someone to be ashamed you make me sound like a
callous murderer.

When we shoot a fox if theres young we dig them. Pigeons are
doing no harm to sown fields this time of year. Go ahead and
fill your boots if thats your thing. The majority of shooters
over here won't shoot until birds are taking the crops when
their up. People will gurn come August 'why are there no pigeons
about?' Because idiots have helped destroy all the young.
