Does anyone shoot a 22 mag with a suppressor? was thinking about
getting one. if it makes much of a difference. does an over
barrel suppressor work if the barrel is not screw cut. probably
not, but if anyone has any opinions???
       thanks

The over barrel ones are not very good, and screw cut is the
best way to go, also over barrel, as otherwise you will end up
with a very very long gun.
Don't expect miracles if using magnum cartridges, it won't
suppress it as much as a 22lr with subs. You will get rid of
most of the bang, but not the supersonic CRACK as that the
bullet will make as soon as it exits the moderator into the air.
But like I said, it will usually cut sound by about 1/3 to 1/2
       so well worth it

Take the gun to a registered gunsmith (or a gunshop that has a
gunsmith they know and trust, Burkes have one in Coleraine, so
most should have one) and get it cut there, as if you end up
with a check from your FEO and your gun is at "some workshop"
that isn't a gunshop or gunsmith, you would lose your FAC.
A good one for the 22WMR is the same type as I have on my 17HMR,
the Wilcat Cub, can be had in 22 and is strip pale to clean, so
won't rot away like some do
