So we think it's a success story. We agreed that. We always hear
bad stories about breaches and attacks; we never hear success
stories. So we interviewed journalists who contributed to the
Panama Papers and talked with them about their organizational
culture and how creating uniform protocols for all journalists
could help instill a sense of teamwork and mutual protection.
Around that time, I started working on facial recognition, and
from there and asking the following questions: Why is this so
hard to understand? How do we strategic way to better
understand what they're doing and what they need to do? How can
we bring some transparency to these systems in a way that is
meaningful and understandable to real people? : One of the funny
things is that security always does.
If it's a little hard to do, then we're all inclined not to,
because it's tomorrow's problem versus today's problem. This is
the scariest thing about us humans. You know, I think we're
failing in a lot of ways because we haven't built it into the
infrastructure, so it's the default. There WhatsApp Number List

are a lot of analogies to artificial
intelligence: we're building it, and if we don't make the
defaults easy to use or easy to do the right thing, then people
will do the wrong thing, or people will do the easy thing or the
short-term thing.

You mentioned facial recognition: What types of things should we
build into our infrastructure so we don't spread AI-based
mistakes? Elizabeth Anne Watkins: That's a great question. What
drives my research, both in my graduate studies and at Intel, is
the realization that people are the experts in their own lives,
and that we really need to engage with people and users
throughout the development process in order.
