Facebook Changes I'm an Oakland A's fan, and have been for my
entire life. My mother took me to the 1972 World Series as a
fetus, and one of my Stewart throw on the side in spring
training, where we were separated by nothing more than stretch
of ribbon. So this last stretch of games has been tough: on the
road, fighting for a playoff spot, with their top three starters
out for the season. And then they lost last night to those damn

what did I do? I made a rookie mistake, taking to Facebook and
griping about the Giants fans who grew up in the East Bay.
Don't get me wrong; I liked the Gnats. Heck, I interviewed Roger
Craig for a short stint at Giants Magazine. I just don't like
them now. Was there any reason to post that just days after a
childhood friend posted photos of the game the Giants clinched
the division? Of course not. But it was late at night, and my
phone was running out of battery, and I didn't take the time to

"broke" that old Facebook private messages were being exposed as
Wall posts. That turned out not to be the case, and was simply a
function of Facebook's evolving privacy settings. That evolution
now allows users to set global settings with various levels of
restrictions - from "public" to "just friends" to "just you."
Apps can also be "turned off," and their notifications managed.

number of ways to embarrass yourself on the social network. To
