I just read an update from an observer on twitter..
This whale has already attracted international attention and
experts from the US have been contacted by various bodies from
Shetland – entanglement like this is, apparently unusual in UK
waters but much more frequent off the US coast. News sources
suggest various individuals and groups may be hoping to try to
release the whale, perhaps as early as today, 10 September. I
and many others sincerely hope so.
So lets hope they are successfull.

It must have been the one I saw, Tracy, its very near the shore,
but getting there overland to see it, might be difficult for an
auld man like me.. I really don't want to photograph it in its
entangled state.. when I first seen it, it was only about 25
feet from the shore, unfortunatly I did'nt get that pix, as it
took me by surprize..

Re: Humpback Whale. My last word..

This is my last word on this subject, unless i have to answer to
a post..
I was talking to a guy about the whale, he said to me, the
creelman probably cut the ropes to release the whale...
Then yesterday, i was talking to another guy..
This is what he told me..
He was out in his creelboat, and had a hold of the rope, he was
going to cut it free..
But the [ tree huggers] [his words] started to shout to him to
get out of the way, as it was dangerous..
So, he left it alone, in case he got into bother..
Later, when the crowd cleared off, he went back and cut it free,
Next morning they all came back, and low and behold the whale
had disappeared..
This guy told me, that he knew the creelman well..
