       Whale watching.

Well, it wont be that long till we get out and see the whales
       again..
Living where I am, the village is an ideal place to watch out
       for whales.
Its situated along side Yell Sound, opposite Ulsta, on the
       Island of Yell..
This stretch of water gets many Pods of killers every year, they
normally appear south of Bigga Isle opposite Ulsta..
But on occasions they hunt along the banks of my village, and
what a thrilling feeling you get when you see them..
In the summer months I spend a lot of time looking for them...
Last year a Humpback passed south, very close to the village,
only a matter of two hundred feet from the shore, I did get a
few shots of it with my camera, but the wind was so strong, it
was causing camera shake, so please excuss the pics.
This Humpback was the one that got entangled the next day, by
lobster pot lines.. It was trapped for a couple of days, then a
creel boat went out and cut it free..
       What I use ..

I was going to have a break from birdwatching this weekend, when
I saw a report from Shetland Wildlife.. A pod of three killers
are heading north on the east side of Shetland, last sighted at
       Dalsetter in the south..
So I made my way to south of Cunningsburgh at Mousa Sound, there
I met up with another two cars wae whalewatchers. but the whales
seemed to have disappeared, so I decided that rather than going
back home with nothing in my camera, I thought I would take a
few shots of the Seals up on the rocks..
       Seals.

Re: Whale watching. Killers at Braewick..

I got a text saying killers at Braewick.
When I got there I did'nt see any.
       So I ordered my lunch..
Then a short time later, one of the touristes spotted them, it
was two bulls, they were hidden from view in one of the many
       geos..
Lots of people made there way to the cliffs, but owing to a sore
back, I opted to stay at the cafe, which was a bit o a pity, as
I have seen Hughs pics. and they are stunning. mine were taken
two miles away.. how do I know that, cause Mark had set his
mileometer, and told me when he returned..
Killers being watched from the cliffs.
