       SheepTag Timelines Whoa thoughts!

Yes that's right, time lines. Timelines are like different
realities where the things that happen here could / had / have
completely different outcomes in other timelines.
A Timeline -> Man A gets hit by a car.
B Timeline -> Man A Does not get hit by a car and gets a coffee.
  HTML http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v10/topic/com.ibm.bar.doc/onbar022.gif
Now this whole idea got me thinking, even if its (probably) not
true / possible, what if THERE WAS different timelines.
Now this got me thinking, about sheep tag history and some
interesting thoughts start to come to mind.
What if in another timeline legends like: Amir, magoo, drew,
gosu, chaise, shoop etc etc were the toilets of the community,
and people like Dark exodus, Jean mii, Hawkys, Tollison, ITIO,
and others were (in that other timeline) the leading legends of
       the community.
Ofc they would be different and the community's path could have
       been COMPLETELY different.
But lets dig even deeper, what if Gosu's map had been toileted,
and ROTS had been the leading map design and game play.
Would people be extremely good at different kinds of sheep?
Would People be good at certain wolves? (There different).
If we had gone this way, would the community been like it is
now? We can analyze that Pub players, enjoy rots more.
So would it have been possible that in that timeline sheep tag
had become much larger, maybe even as big as Dota 2 is now?
I mean it was a custom wc3 game to, and nothings impossible. What
if right now in another timeline people are playing "SheepTag 2"
(Even though many people wouldn't believe this just go with it
       as an idea and possibility).
Next, would the game play have been completely different from
the way it is now and has been (mass)?
Some questions and things you can respond to:
       1. If the roles of people being legends and toilets and pro's
etc were switched, who do you think would be what role?
       2. Would we still play Gosu's Revolution or would we have gone
for the "pub solution" ROTS BUT with a more advanced game play
       version?
       3. Would it be possible to get popular enough for there to be
       "SheepTag 2" the game?
       4. Would DoTA have become the game it is now, if not what would
       it have become?
Have fun with this questions, try to come up with your own or
answer them, also remember this is a DIFFERENT TIMELINE. Don't
pull a idiotic comment - "Well its not possible so whatever."

Okay let's get some fact in the table before I answer your
questions.. SheepTag isn't a game what many people would love to
play (even tho difference wolves etc...) after all it's sheeps
building farms. + Dota is much larger with its own game and so
higher level on game designing than SheepTag. I mean hundreds
of heroes and thousands of skills + map with neutrals and
objectives. Sheeptag is basically farming and staying alive, of
course it has many ways to play, but its not enough shifty like
       Dota.

       Now to the questions:
       1. Well sidey would be real toilet like HaWkys is nowdays, and I
       would be true legend
       2. If even the begging of time when gosu designed SheepTag map.
and would go for more advanced version, we would play that then
       ... lol
       3. No there is noway thats gonna happen. (I explained that
       already)
       4. I don't think these changes would change anyhing about DotA,
DotA is so much higher level on game design that nobody would
       care about ST.

Personally I always thought ROTS had way more potential then it
was given credit for. Sure it was poorly made, but it was well
liked had been potential just wasn't made well. In fact the
"popular" sheep tag on Starcraft 2 right now is ROTS based. Now
imagine if gosu/chakra worked on making ROTS more balanced took
out some completely imba things and added few more fun "fluff"
things as it seems people love "fluff" hence why games like Dota
are popular they have lots of "Fluff" 100 heroes + 100+ items
       etc.
Lets take a look at Dota now what if it was made like Sheep Tag
       Revo
Take out every hero except 1 for each class. So you would have 1
tank, 1 AP, 1 AD, 1 Support, 1 Jungler. Now take it a step
further and make it so they don't level up and remove all items
except 1 item that gives HP, 1 item that gives damage etc.
Eventually you start making a game that is straight skill with
all the extra unnecessary stuff removed *cough* Sheep Tag
       *cough*
The problem is people just don't like these types of games. They
have convinced themselves that these choices are "strategy" when
in reality its just unnecessary fluff that gives an unfair
advantage to those who play more because they know the "better"
item to buy or the hero that "counters" theirs.

I personally agree that if rots had been adapted and made way
better advertising the game. Rots also could have been fun if
       this had happened.

Rofl @Tpt "if sidey was toilet like hawkys is now i would be
legend" or something like that xD If tpt was leader we would be
runtagging and dying before the 9 minute mark. I do however
agree that the game of sheep tag was stripped to much at the
advanced level. The only time I really enjoy the game is sheep.
So half the game isn't really that fun for me in the first
place. Who else agrees that wolfing isn't fun and we should make
an effort to make wolfing enjoyable????

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Efforts to make wolfing enjoyable are usually unpopular because
they tend to come at the expense of the sheep, and people care
about sheep much more. Most people don't enjoy wolfing, and so
they want simple wolfing -- which in turn makes it less
enjoyable, so people want even simpler wolfing. Similarly they
want exciting sheep rounds, where they're able to abuse the
wolves, but at the same time they still want it to be
       challenging.
The result of this over time has been that wolves have gotten
damage buffs and range nerfs. It used to be 8 hits to kill a
farm, and sheep frequently died 1-2 farms inside their base.
Now it's 2 hits to kill a farm, but sheep can avoid being killed
sometimes even right next to you if they jumped on the opposite
side of your sword. In general wolfing got less strategic to
make sheeping more exciting. Another way you can see this is in
the shorter game times and sheep/wolf number ratios. 4v4 20
minute games used to be all the rage. Then 5v5 10-15 minute
       games. Now it's mostly 3v5 and 2v4 < 5 minute games. Even
though more people are wolfing, they are wolfing for shorter
periods at a time, and individual wolfing is less important.
3v5 is a sheeping contest, and the wolves are just waiting their
       turn to sheep.
I would say the most relevant timeline isn't about who were the
leaders, but whether the game design (influenced ofc by the
leaders) was more sheep-centric or balanced. For my part I
campaigned for a more balanced game, but I was in the minority.

That is the tricky part drew, making the game FUN and as
BALANCED as possible. As far as the "campaign" you speak off, i
personally believe you were only looking at one aspect, the
balancing aspect. ALL ASPECTS OF THE GAME NEED TO BE FUN TO KEEP
ALL PLAYERS HAPPY. People don't like waiting for their thrill of
sheep and are often found leaving the game if they wolf to long
or don't get sheep long enough. Now as far as completing this
task, we couldn't point the finger at the mapmaker and say "Make
this happen." If we did so it would be left up to one person and
for the most part the map will be rejected. We would have to
post a thread about new ideas, ofc not everyone would want the
same ideas so preferably a voting kind of setup. I however do
not believe that we will be able to make a structure like that
with THIS kind of community. Too many people people like polar
and martin etc. that would discriminate against any sort of
idea. Thus that and getting ready for my goal of getting into
the military threw me off sheep tag, but i am happy to stay
active on the form. I respect ur opinion and i thank you for
       answering my thread with seriousness.

I tried making Sheep Tag more fun for Shepherds with my Sheep
       Tag map.
  HTML http://www.epicwar.com/maps/242857/
I haven't touched it in a while, because I have been doing other
       things.
But mainly the map was created to make wolfing more fun for pubs
to get them into Sheep Tag.
If you have any feedback please let me know :)
OT: I like how we got offtopic from timelines to fixing the map
       :D

Yeah guys you had some nice thoughts about the map (drew) and
hawkys but take that to Drews new thread (I will post there when
my computer starts up. Let's get back to the original questions
and thoughts guys, try to stay focused ^^
       Also some new questions:
       5. What realm do you think would have created sheep tag?
       6. Would the results of STWC'S been different in this time line?
By how much and what realm.
Try to answer the questions I have presented as it it will make
this thread much more interesting. (Q 1-6)

Even without the western leaders, I imagine west still would
have been very early on in creating ST. But note that it's
probable all realms created their own strains of ST
independently. It is, after all, based on a rather popular
       StarCraft I game.
