       Help with research Project

So i am in AP Biotechnology III and i have to do a research
       project. This is my idea..
I am attempting to arrest yeast cells to study the cell cycle
(Heat shock and ice bath) I am going to dye yeast cells and
count the cells in the G1 Phase of the cell cycle. The dye is
       Methylene blue.
I am going to run 3 seperate yeast cultures. One with normal
nutrients and temperature, one with a raised temperature and one
       with a lowered temperature.
I will be able to tell what cycle it is by comparing it with
images found online. I then will be able to look at it under a
       microscope and count the cells.
Another Q i want to answer is how heat shocking it effects the
       yeast.
Sorry for wording it poorly but thats what i got. For anyone who
can understand this or has an easier way to do it please
       respond!

Biotechnology III is not an AP class.

It is is my school sonny o boy.
here is my schools biotech classes
       Biotechnology 1
       Microbiology (counts as 2)
       And Biotech 3
       Then AP Bio 1
       then Ap Micro
       Then AP Bio 3
you only have to take biotech 1 and 3 to get into ap bio. I took
biotech 1 and 3 my sophmore year, each 1 semester. Then took AP
bio 1, also a semester and this was start of new semester, i
       started AP Bio 3

There is only one AP Biology course. Any other course is either
       (a) offered as a standard high school class or (b) offered as a
remote program from a college or university.
AP specifically relates to College Board which is a national and
       standardized organization.
Anyways, I've only taken two college bio courses, but your
"research project" (which seems more like an experiment) seems
very plain and common, even something you might do as a standard
       100s lab.
Also, how the fuck is this lab "biotechnology" if there isn't a
technology focus in the "research project"? Give me the effect
of electrical shock or at least a low-powered electric field in
       this environment!

Well chakra all schools are different and have various programs,
your right though, it is kind of an experiment. Here is the
format at which i wrote it up
       I. Objective:
       II. Experimental Design:
       III. Procedure / Materials
       IV. Results
       V. Conclusion
Now, once a month my lab workbook is sent to a college where it
is looked at and deemed worthy.
I am aware this project is not really about biotech, but i
assure you we do real biotech work like seeing if any GMO's are
in specific foods, making solutions and using them with things
in the real world to. What we mainly do is genetic manipulation
of microorganisms for the production of hormones, medicine etc.
