       Lifebyte War
By: Chente Date: August 31, 2018, 9:35 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The Lifebyte War was fought by most nations of the Editosphere,
a war starting due to both the increased rate of blackhat
hackers and the strenuous rate of alliances. It occurred from
2160 to 2180. The name for the war was coined by ZED, a
portmanteau of Life and Byte, as wild hacking usage by
militaries were common and the wars casualties are to date the
highest casualties from any single event in the Editosphere,
being on level with the Pre-Apocalypse World War I.

       Belligerents
       The Uni:
       Military dead: 35,525,000
(China, Russia, North Korea, Canada, Lawrence Republic)
Canada was at the time undergoing a new ideology; editism. It
was opposed to the Cardinal and partially ZED as a result-- it
would come out ruined if the Uni didn't win. This ideology along
with ongoing nationalism in Canada caused it to join the Uni
side although its alliances and positioning would make one
believe it would become a Cardinal.
       Cardinal Paths (les Aphones):
       Military dead: 21,300,000
(European Union, United States, United South American Front,
       South Africa)
       ZED:
       Military dead: 8,000,000
       (Editosphere Committee, most other nations)

In 2171, the Lawrence Republic invented a new weapon of Hacking
Warfare: the Transfigulator. A weapon capable of forcing a
mutation and completely shredding through the data of those it
hit. It was considered one of the most horrific creations
throughout the entire war; capable of horrors beyond the
imagination due to its hacking style: random-point spread. It
completely mutated all of Switzerland through four uses done at
all four corners by the Republic which had at the time
completely covered Switzerland. Although Switzerland was neutral
in the war, the Republic had used the then weak country as a
test subject for the full power of the Transfigulator.
Switzerland was later cleared of its rabid amount of Mutants and
Corrupt DDNA by ZED at the end of the war.
Towards the end of the war, ZED had began taking more forceful
methods to dealing with the then winning Uni.
The end of the war marked the Juliet Convention, named after the
very first hacker. It created ZED-handled world laws for
hacking, increased the worldwide presence of ZED and paved the
way for whitehat hacking and legal hackers. It also banned the
horrific violations against human rights that occurred during
it, such as Russia's EVE Project to create mutants to use as
weapons. As for the transfigulator, nobody knows where it is
even today; it had disappeared from the public radar after the
       fall of the Lawrence Republic.
