Owl [1]
By: Chente Date: August 30, 2018, 4:56 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Date: December 15th, 2199.
Location: Owl Chapterhouse #7 [Sydney, Australia]
It was an artificial voice that rangs out in Owl's ears as he
re-entered consciousness. "Agent OWL. You are here for a
training combat simulation 56-Omega". As he looked around, Owl
saw an-almost completely white room with no entrances, exits or
windows. Only a large machine in the middle with holographic
display in front of it. "..I see. Prepare the simulation ASAP
and crank up the difficulty to Level 2. Let the show begin.
Failure is not a option." Owl spoke in a serious and direct tone
of voice, getting into position and looking for any form of
cover within the simulation.
"Do beware, the sulphuric molocine in your system may be
hampering your memory abilities slightly through this. That, or
the alcohol. "
"You know I hardly drank... only thing that I can taste right
now is milk and--"
[ Simulation difficulty cranked up to Level 2. Now spawning
Hologram soldiers with CCQ capabilities. Initializing Battle
Sphere ] the artificial voice interrupted.
"I see-- perfect."
A hologram appeared in front of Owl, immediately lunging at him
as he was talking to the artificial voice. Owl spun the cylinder
for his minigun as the Hologram lunged at him before firing out
dozens of bullets from his minigun at the Hologram's general
direction. He pelted the Holograms area with a rain of bullets
as he fired his minigun towards Hologram, burning his EN quickly
as each energy bullets passed, multiple scraping the Hologram
and wounding it from up close, even disabling its arm.
The hologram aimed it's Plasma Pistol at Owl with its good arm,
before firing a few bullets, each missing Owl narrowly as he
calmly ran towards the Hologram, ready to bash it with his
machine gun. Suddenly, the sound of a laser rung out as Owl
suddenly stopped holding his now injured arm, "Unacceptable!".
Owl then bashed his machine gun into the Hologram's body-
knocking it to the ground as it vaporized. His expression went
from disappointment to surprise.
[ Battle capabilities nominal. ]
"Thank you, thank you! But really, you're gonna have to do
better than that." said Owl confidently. He had a slight grin on
his face. "Was that test to your satisfaction?" He yawned as he
pulled out a stick of cheese from inside of his shirt, slowly
chewing on it as he stared into the air. "Anything else?"
[ Testing endurance. Initiating breakdown radiation. Disclaimer:
All pain and bodily damage caused by breakdown-type radiation is
purely mental, used often in both tests and torture methods.] A
small crackle of static can be heard as the voice shut off. Owl
took a couple steps backwards before stopping and bracing his
body for the pain that would overwhelm him shortly "Wha-"
"I got this no problem. Bring your worst (it isn't real, it
isn't real, it isn't REAL)!", said Owl at first out loud but
then under muttered whispers. Owls eyes darted around, in
preparation for what was to come.
His senses weakened as he felt the hard pressure on his body.
Breathing in and out and keeping a cool level head while taking
in all the pressure and pain, he kept his composure-- such an
Owl thing to do. The pressure welled up. It's like every part of
your body feeling sore, and getting stagnant and decaying. It
became hard to breath for Owl as his body tensed up. Gritting
his teeth and planting his feet into the ground, Owl was
struggling with sweat running down his face; he would continue
onward and tried to hold his stance for a bit more.
A few of his muscles began to misfire and shake as he breathing
hitched. Owl shook and coughed, his lungs feel weak, wheezy. A
soft but audible and awful ringing sound could be heard
resounding through the area as his senses began to fail him,
collapsing one after another. Shortly after, a strong pain shot
up through his body as he fell down. The struggle stopped in an
instant.
Owl then wiped his sweaty forehead as he continued to lie on the
floor after the endurance test. "That was horrible, how.. how
did i do?" said Owl exasperated. He looked over to the machine
in the centre of the room as if looking for validation.
"Breakdown radiation disabled. Combat and Endurance Simulation
56-Omega complete. Shutting down and logging out User "Owl".
Congratulations! Total Score.. 97..."
