       Artificials, also known as Synths, are a species that populate
       the Editosphere in Shattered Curtains. They are synthetic and
       enhanced entities produced by the Federation and mass produced
       by companies such as Vector Incorporated. They are cybernetic
       organisms usually (but not always) designed to resemble humans,
       and are occasionally impossible to distinguish. A wonder of
       molecular bioengineering and nanomachines, their composition
       comes in various forms based on need, from carbon-silicon based
       bodies with synthetic organs to being made of liquid metal.
