A good day for Yury Romanovich (Albrecht Side-RP #1)
By: Justice Date: September 13, 2018, 1:54 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       January 11th, 3:00 am
Inside Yury Romanovich's Estate on the outskirts of Moscow
Yury Romanovich was having a good day. After months of near
disaster, he had managed to make inroads with the Bronze Crowns.
He would be allowed to expand his territory all under Alistar's
personal protection. He was already on his way to becoming a
wealthy man. Now, he would live the life of luxury he always
deserved, that his hated ex-superiors had while he crawled in
the mud, doing their dirty work. Yury finished off his bottle
of vodka. "If only they could see me now," he muttered to his
empty bottle, before tossing it to the ground to join the
others. "I'm on top of the damn world."
Yury was having such a good day that he did not mind that his
next security team had arrived ten minutes late. The previous
team had already left, something that would have been
unthinkable before today. This was his new life as a member of
the Crowns. As he moved to access the console to let the
security team in, a little bit of reality creeped back in. The
Moscow power grid went down, cutting off all power. Yury
shrugged it off. This was not uncommon. In a minute his backup
generator would kick in and the party would continue.
A minute passed. Then another. Then another. Darkness still.
Then two large crashes outside. And then Yury understood that
this had not been a good day at all.
       January 10th, 12:00 am
       Somewhere in Moscow
Albrecht smiled pleasantly as Owl slunk off into the shadows.
What a stroke of fortune for him, to find an organization such
as X-COM suddenly available for hire! Rumors of recent
casualties and failures even allowed him to get their services
without paying up front. They would instead be paid an equal
       share of whatever he earned.
This was especially important as Albrecht had spent most of his
money finding this Yury in the first place. The remainder was
spent as he scouted his estate. What a stroke of fortune to
find Yury traveling so much during those weeks! What a double
stroke of fortune to find him taking most of his security with
him during these trips. That made it all the easier for him to
sneak in and hack into Yury's security systems.
Everything was set up perfectly. He could navigate the estate
in complete darkness. His slow compromising of Yury's security
systems gave him complete control. All that he needed was for
X-COM to do their part and this would go off without a hitch.
       January 11th, 3:10 am
       Outside Yury Romanovich's Estate
Right when Albrecht had said they would, the security team had
arrived in their armored truck. Right when Albrecht had said it
       would happen, the blackout occurred.
And right as the pieces fell into place X-COM struck. Two
previously prepared and hidden trucks were remotely controlled
to slam into both sides of the truck disorienting the security
team and leaving them with only one possible exit. A few
bullets fired at the door showed how impossible an option that
was for the team. While they were still protected by many
layers of metal, leaving through the back would be suicide.
Owl paused his direction of his men for a moment to consider how
useful having a plan could be. He then sat and raised his Tesla
cannon. Albrecht's plan did not require the killing of the
       security team but...
       January 11th, 3:20 am
       Inside Yury Romanovich's Product Room
Yury rapidly filled his bags with Thimble Flow and cash. His
security team was at best fighting off the enemy outside and
thus unable to help him. At worst, his home was already being
invaded. If it was his choice, he would have already fled
through one of his many escape routes planned for just such an
occasion. But abandoning all of his product and cash would be a
death sentence. The Crowns would put a bullet in his head even
as they would horribly murder those buffoons who made him flee
in the first place. Four bags. Four bags would be enough for
Alistar to forgive him, Yury thought as he crammed what he could
       into his last bag.
"I would have tried for six." It was both an unfamiliar and
familiar voice to Yury. He had never heard this man before but
he had often heard people like this man. A person of proper
education, of proper training, of undeserved arrogance for being
born to one family as opposed to another. A voice like his
former employers. He didn't turn around. He could keep some
surprise while tracking the man's shadow which stretched out
from the hallway. An amateur mistake.
"So one of you blue bloods finally decided to do me in huh?"
Yury set his bag down. He still had his plasma pistol and his
laser blade. All he had to do was keep the man talking. People
like him were often cocky enough to think they could finish
things themselves. "Didn't send a proper agent but some legacy
idiot to get a head start at PHASAR right? Take down an
ex-agent who's making something of himself. You would never let
me live in peace would you?"
"I can't say you're totally wrong," the man said with a chuckle.
Yury just needed to reach a little bit further before he would
see what was no doubt an arrogant smirk disappear from the
intruder's face permanently. "Now, I don't suppose you would
just cooperate?" A stifled yawn, a shifted shadow. The fool
had actually brought up both hands behind his head like he
       actually expected Yury to surrender.
Yury didn't bother to say anything back. Instead, he spun
around, drawing his plasma pistol in one smooth motion, and
fired. There was nothing. His peripheral vision just barely
caught the edge of a long black coat before he was forcibly
slammed to the ground. He heard a familiar crackle of
electricity before it all went black.
       January 15th, time unknown
Preliminary Report of Officer Porfiry Petrovich [Agent, remember
to archive this and all related files before we arrange for
       their destruction in a month]
Albrecht Lee, registered bounty hunter, contacted the Moscow
Police at approximately 6:00 am, January 11th, to inform us that
he had captured Yury Romanovich, high on our most wanted lists.
He also stated that he located a large amount of Thimble Flow
that he was happy to secure for us. Based on preliminary
examinations, it does appear that most if not all of Suspect's
supply was present. There was an unusually sparse cash supply
present. Suspect claims that a group of heavily armed men under
the direction of Mr. Lee arrived to take much of the cash he
had. Suspect also complained that his light saber was stolen.
Various ledgers and accounts connect Suspect to the Bronze
Crowns and possibly Alistar himself. Suspect should be marked
as high importance and kept in solitary confinement to prevent
any possible Crowns assassinations. [Ex-Agent Romanovich has
been transferred to our custody. You have been assigned as lead
interrogator. Though we are fairly confident in where the
missing files are, we need confirmation as well as any other
       information he may have.]
Conclusions: Mr. Lee has delivered Suspect to us with a
staggering amount of Thimble Flow. It seems clear that he and
his helpers also stole a large amount of cash from the area
before calling us. There also appears to be a staggering amount
of other documents and materials that must be reviewed. I have
authorized payment of the reward money for Suspect's capture but
this entire case merits a full investigation. [After negotiation
with Police Commissioner, case has been officially closed as of
today. Officer Petrovich has been promoted to detective in
Saint Petersberg and assigned the Pawnbroker murder case.
Ex-Agent Romanovich was declared officially dead of heart
       failure on the 14th.]
