1st Monster Chess at the DRPF! Shane versus Charlotte, Green ver
sus Sky Blue!

Um. The title is supposed to be "The First Monster Chess Match
at the Dragon Riders Planning Forums! Shane Neumann versus
Charlotte, Green versus Sky Blue!" but the name's too long. :P
(Thank goodness Charlotte chose not to have the display name as
"Elemental Hero Ice Heart" otherwise it'd be even longer.)
Anyway. Monster Chess. Um. Wikipedia link to its article

Those who can't access Wikipedia:
White has four pawns and a King and... that's it.
Black has all 16 pieces that it has in vanilla chess.
The rules of chess apply here, BUT:

[li]White can make two moves per turn.[/li]
[li]Provided that White can make two moves, the White King can
move into check and then out of check.[/li]
[li]If a King is in check it must be placed out of check.[/li]
[li]A King is in check if it could be captured on the next
turn.[/li]
[li]Aside from those, the standard rules apply.[/li]

Regarding checkmate, white checkmates black when, no matter
where black moves, white will always be able to take black's
king by making two consecutive moves.
... Um.
Somehow I think Charlotte's avatar is fitting for a Gym Leader.

Anyway. Charlotte's black (sky blue) and I'm white (green).
Notation:
Moves will be marked in the color of the player.

Um.
That would actually work pretty neat, all that's needed is the
"VS" and the "Charlotte" part in the same pic. :P
... And a VS pic representing me. :))

I'll be working on that; just need to figure out the Pokémon
font for the most recent DS games.
As for your VS pic, I tried but it was too hard to recolor. :(
