Badges?

So, yeah.
I figured, may as well add a badge request thread.
(As in, a thread where people can request for badges to be
added; not given to them immediately.)
I have still to make the Member of the Month badges for November
and December, if Shane doesn't beat me to it with the force of a
Monferno named Ignis :))

What about a badge for requesting a badge here. :P

Pokémon badges.
That could work, no?
Also, trophies. That would be awesome.

PLAYER BADGES:
Okay, guys and gals.
Each person who plays chess will have 3 badges representing
them. Defeating that person once earns the first badge. The
second badge is earned by defeating that person ten times in
total and the third one by defeating him/her fifty times.
I'll have the Venom Badge, so players who defeat me once in
chess gets the Venom Badge. The tenth time I'm beaten by a
player, he/she receives the Inferno Badge.
(At least, I think I'll have Poison- and Fire-elemental badges,
I'm not entirely sure.)
Each chess player has only two badges that they can receive.
I might try working on those, but I can't promise anything.
(Hell, it took me four days to remember that I had a chess match
against Wayne. :-[)
If there are generous members who want to sprite them for me:
- The size must be 32x32 pixels
- It must have a transparent background
- Animated badges are allowed
So?
Post your suggested Chess badges here, if you want to. :)

Ice Fang Badge: first badge. In The Battle: Coliseum, enhances
the power of Ice-elemental attacks.
Electric Storm Badge: second badge. In The Battle: Coliseum,
enhances the power of Thunder-elemental attacks.
Core Badge: third badge, if 50-wins-give-badge is allowed.
How about that? :P
I *might* sprite those myself, if you'll allow me.

Oh, cool! :)
I love this idea. I'll need to think a bit about what mine
should be...
One matter: By "Each chess player has only two badges that they
can receive.", do you mean that we each only get two badges
associated with our names, or that we can only earn a total of
two badges apiece by beating other members?
And regarding sprites: Will a white background become
transparent? And how would one go about designing an animated
badge, perhaps by presenting a series of sprites to be displayed
in sequence?

Knowing Taylor, I think that each chess-playing member gets two
badges associated with their names. For example (and this is
probably going to be random):
Captain Jack Sparrow beat Taylor, Shane, Polaris, Dr. Time, Dr.
Egregious, Bla bla bla 44, Kanpachi, KarjamP, and Wayne.
He gets nine badges, each badge representing the person that he
defeated.

[/quote]I think you're probably right, but I'm asking because
that statement could also be read to say that if I beat you, and
then I beat Xylorta, I'll get your respective badges, but I
won't then be able to earn any further chess badges.

@Shane:
50 wins for the third badge is a good idea, actually.
That's the limit, though; no more Chess badges after the 50th
win (unless we've got at least 20 chess-playing members here).
:P
No idea what you mean by the Pokémon badges, though. :-[
@ KarjamP the Richard the Lionheartless:
A badge for asking for a badge here.
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat's going to drive me and
Shane insane if we have to go and give everyone that badge
simultaneously. :P
I've tried giving one badge to two members once, didn't work.

Shane is entirely correct... although I have no idea if Captain
Jack Sparrow could even play chess :))

No, the white background will remain.
There are some image-editing programs (like Paint.Net
HTML http://www.getpaint.net/)
that allow one to add transparency to
images.
As for animated badges, I just use Beneton Movie GIF
HTML http://www.benetonsoftware.com/Beneton_Movie_GIF.php
to make
them.

You ninja'd me.
Anyway, I corrected it (I think).

Cool. :) Thanks for the clarification; I'll set about
spriting my first one straightaway. :)
