Pokémon Quiz
By: Taylor Date: October 23, 2013, 8:05 am
---------------------------------------------------------
That's right! We've got a Pokémon quiz going on here!
Shane and I are the Quiz Masters (as we are both admins), and
we'll ask two questions at a time!
Let's begin, shall we~
KarjamP: [012] | Wayne [002] | Charlotte [002] |||||
Question 1:
Is it possible for Pokémon to become Triple-typed in the Pokémon
games?
If so, how?
[3 points]
Question 2:
How would you be able to deal Super Effective Ground-type damage
to an Eelektrik?
[3 points]

Q1: False.
Q2: Get rid of its ability by using moves allowing modification
of abilities before hand, use a Pokemon with Mold Breaker or use
the move Gravity before hand.

1. Forest's Curse and Trick-or-Treat, two new moves from
Generation VI, adds the Grass- or Ghost-types to a Pokémon. This
makes single-typed Pokémon dual-typed, and dual-typed Pokémon
triple-typed. So says Serebii.
HTML http://www.serebii.net/games/typechange.shtml
(Of course, since you have Pokémon X/Y, you could do research on
whether that is true.)
2. Correct.
I'll let Shane ask questions 3 and 4.

^I thought those two were the grass-type and ghost-type
equivalent to the move soak (ie, it changes all of the types).

Question 3:
Is there a possibility for a Zubat to get +14 Speed via level
up?
[1 point]
Question 4:
Against Spiritomb with Wonder Guard, what move could deal damage
regardless of whether it is super effective against Dark or
Ghost?
[1 point]

3. I don't know. Yes?
4. Fire Fang, maybe?

Q3: Yes, it is, via EV's.
Q4: It gains a weakness in X and Y: the Fairy-type (as
Dark-types are weak against Fairy-types and Fairy-types do
normal damage to Ghost-types).
(Also, technically, Fire Fang hitting Pokemon with Wonder Gourd
was a bug in the IV gen, which was fixed for the V gen).

Um. I'm not sure whether both Wayne or KarjamP should get points
(Taylor never specified what happens in the event that both
members are correct), so I'll give Wayne the points since he
answered first.
Anyway:
3: It is possible via EVs... but only pre-Generation V. Stats
are recalculated after every battle whether a Pokémon levels up
or not, so something like Speed +14 won't happen at level up.
4: Fire Fang is correct. Beat Up would also be correct, as it is
considered a typeless attack in Generations II, III and IV.
Question 5:
If a Pokémon uses Soak on an opponent Pokémon, and another
Pokémon uses Trick-or-Treat on the same Pokémon, what type would
it be?
[1 point]
Question 6:
Name 18 Pokémon introduced in Generation VI with unique type
combinations.
[9 points]
Taylor can ask Questions 7 and 8.

Re: Pokémon Quiz

---------------------------------------------------------
Q5: Water/Ghost
Q6: Diggersby; Dragalge; Hawlucha; Carbink; Tyrunt and
Tyrantrum; Amaura and Aurorus; Honedge, Doublade and Aegislash;
Litleo and Pyroar; Dedenne; Inkay and Malamar are the only
pokemon (and respective family) introduced in gen 6 with unique
types, although there's two families that were retconned into a
unique type: Togetic and Togekiss and Marill and Azumarill.
Can I ask the following questions, please:
Question 7: What character receives the only voice acting in
Generation VI's main games?
Question 8: Can a move be two types at once?

Um. Unfortunately, you can't.
The first post explicitly states:

Shane and I are the Quiz Masters (as we are both admins), and
we'll ask two questions at a time!
Also, the answers are in the Admin HQ (which only admins can
see); if global moderators could see it they wouldn't be allowed
to answer questions and you'd be disqualified, technically.
Questions 5 and 6 are correct, although you missed two Pokémon
in question 6: Helioptile and Heliolisk (Electric/Normal).
Retcons didn't count.
Taylor, questions 7 and 8, if you please.
