[font=arial black]Policy 2.4.1: Vehicle Assignment
All officers will have assigned vehicles that they are required
to drive while on duty.
Policy 2.4.2: Vehicle Parking
All vehicles must be parked correctly, in the correct parking
spot within the garage when the officer goes off duty.
Policy 2.4.3: Vehicle Condition
Upon going off duty, officers must turn off all equipment within
the vehicle, along with turning off the car itself. It also must
be filled with gas, and repaired fully.
Policy 2.4.4: Emergency Responses
Officers are allowed to use an emergency response when the
following are committed;
• Bodily Harm
• Officer Assistance
• Supervisory Approval
• Pursuit (Naval, foot, or vehicle)
• Injured Person(s)
• Officer Discretion
Policy 2.4.5: Code One
When responding in Code One, you will not use any emergency
equipment to respond. Example: Lights and Sirens.
Policy 2.4.6: Continued
When responding Code One a seat belt is to be used at all times.
If a seat belt is not used that officer will lose driving
rights.
Policy 2.4.7: Code Two
When responding in Code Two, you may use emergency the emergency
lights but no siren. You authorized to use sirens if a car does
not move for you, if you come to a crosswalk. If you come to the
crosswalk you are to stop use your siren, if no cars are coming
go.
Policy 2.4.8: Continued
When responding Code Two a seat belt is to be used at all times.
If a seat belt is not used that officer will lose driving
rights.
Policy 2.4.9: Code Three
When responding in Code Three, you may use all emergency
equipment. Including Lights and Sirens.
Policy 2.4.6: Continued
When responding Code Three a seat belt is to be used at all
times. If a seat belt is not used that officer will lose driving
rights.
Policy 2.4.10: Vehicle Ordinances
When responding to a call or general driving, all traffic
statutes must be obeyed.
Policy 2.4.11: Continued
Traffic statues must be obeyed with due care when responding to
a call.
Policy 2.4.12: Member Vehicle Accidents
All staff involved wrecks must be taken into record by the
acting Shift Supervisor.
Policy 2.4.13: Continued
If an acting Shift Supervisor is not present, an un-involved
officer will handle the report, and hand it into his direct
Supervisor.
