I will admit that I was one of the most vocal posted against
this conversion. i hated the idea of loosing a wood coaster and
Longed for a return to the coaster glory days before SFI
reprofiled the drop. but instead of continuing to retrack the
coaster with topper track form RMC which they did a few years
before the announcement they opted to convert it to a steel
coaster. I argued my way al the way through contraction. I even
voiced my dislike as I walked the construction area.
Honestly While I still miss Cyclone and hate seeing a wood
coaster lost Wicked Cyclone is actually one of my favorite
coasters. To a point I even like it over Superman. The train
is comfortable and the ride packs a solid punch. Arguably it
could use a bit more positive G's but it has amazing ejector air
time.

I also had been very skeptical about the conversion of Cyclone
to Wicked Cyclone. My first ride on the updated coaster erased
my skepticism instantly. The ride is awesome, and is now my
favorite ride at SFNE (previously it had been Superman). IMO
they did a fantastic job with the ride, and the theming in the
queue line is really clever.

The themeing is good. I brought a fried to the park for the
first time lats year and he was especially interested in the
Plane crashed into the side of the building.

We had pretty much stopped riding the old Cyclone so anything
would have been an improvement. What we got is a world class
coaster that is a must ride every visit. So now it is two great
coasters in the middle of nowhere MA. How lucky can we get!!

I never stopped riding it but it was towards the bottom of my
wood coaster list. Now its a steel towards the top of my list.

I remember when the rumblings came that Cyclone was getting the
RMC treatment, then I was like the coaster is too small if you
remember at the time they were doing bigger coasters at the time
and I'm like, what are they going to do with this layout.
Proved me wrong and Love it! I remember all the drama being
involved with knowing way before I should have and the Loss
prevention conversations I had, That's a storytime video for
youtube sometime hahaha
I really love the ride, like with everyone else, packs a punch,
its amazing and I think it's one of the underrated RMC coasters
out there!
I haven't ridden all of them, but out of the ones I have ridden,
I think Wicked Cyclone is the best one, I still have more to
ride of course, but I do enjoy the RMC coasters. The problem is
the cost to maintain wood coasters is expensive, Most parks
don't want to spend the constant money and it was either do the
RMC facelift or lose the coaster entirely! So, I think what
SFNE did was the right thing in this case!

How many other RMC's have you been on ?
I get the main argument about the Continued costs to the cost
savings of the Steel track. Though deep down in side I keep
thinking you can do a lot of work for many years for 10 million.
but yes Wicked Cyclone is a winner.

Man was it hauling today. Rode twice. The blue train seemed it
was faster then the orange train. But ops was not bad today at
all to my opinion.

It always seems like Wicked Cyclone runs its best at the very
beginning and end of the season.
At it's best, I think it's towards the middle-of-the-pack as far
as RMCs go. It's on par with Joker and Medusa for me.
