I still think it would have been easier to fit debender column.
he says wanted to keep series column to help keep the car
original, I think the wrong column would be the least of his
worries

And me Pete fnky
P38 box with arm, pipes, shafts & UJs, Debender column and a
300TDi with pump waiting to go in.
I'm going to fit it to my new galv chassis project (109" 1958
truck cab donor and 1964 Carawagon body) - just got to find time
to start it rbchn
My problem is my workspace is in front of the house as the
garage isn't wide enough to work in properly (lathe etc. takes
up one side!), and I don't really want to start until I know I
can devote enough time to get it done in a couple of weeks. My
wife is very good about me having various 'old' Land Rovers on
the front lawn, but I think I'd be pushing it to have a half
finished project blocking the front door for too long!
Here's the last one (the one I drive now) - 2 weeks from start
to finish, including painting wdesmle

i'm looking at building a proper 109 mongrel/bitsa eventually,
at present i'm just collecting odds and sods as they turn up at
the right price (if i have the surplus funds at the time)
i've a pretty good idea of how i'd like it to look but it'll be
sometime before i have enough bits to be able to make a start
at present i've a 1.4:1 LT230 (good condition) and a tired LT77,
a pair of S3 wings, my P38 steering gear, my old S2a bulkhead
(needs lots of welding from memory), an old S3 steering
column/box and a reinforced lightweight front axle, obviously
i've got other random bits laying about but i'm patient (almost
FRSsml )
gotta get Chalkie finished first though whstle
