I know a few folks are fans of pop up tents, and saw these
mentioned on another fora - they seem quite reasonable price
wise......

pops up in seconds, makes you look a twat trying to put it away
after 30 mins of folding and popping open again.

I like em, although you don't want to be in one on top of a
mountain in a storm. My old one was from Tesco £14.99 a few
years ago, it lasted almost 6000 miles in the back of the 80,
although on the last trip I had to stick socks in the holes and
it filled with water. Also mine was not quite long enough. As
Dave said great to put up just throw it where you want to sleep
and put your bag in it to keep it on the ground so no pegging
out required. Putting it away is more of a struggle with a real
knack that I just couldn't do, so I just shoved it in the back
half folded, hence all the holes!

We've got a 4 man pop up tent, you can just get a double airbed
in it. We got ours from Halfords a few yrs ago for £30 in a
sale. Used it for the 1st time last yr in Ireland, it was cosy
in side with us two and Marsie. And the for man is also a swine
to pack down FRSsml

I got a Vango like Ian's after seeing it at shell island one
year - very good, but a struggle to put down sometimes, in fact,
I have had to watch a video on youtube once or twice!

The built in led lights seem a good idea with these tents too -
but no doubt add to the cost.

The bummer is that they are so cheap the drunken Neds can just
torch them and all the gear at the end of the weekend, leaving
shite all along the lochside.
I've found "campsites" before where you could actually tick off
every bit of litter and detritus on the receipts, also left
lying on the ground. 1 pissed up weekend for 4 £120, ASDA,
Bearsden.

Sadly ...The advent of "Cheap" Halfords camping was the start of
the end ....as it allowed every scummy element of the benefits
system to head off on "Holiday" for the price of one benefit
cheque .
No social conscience whatsoever and entirely happy to leave
their shit wherever they please ....for everyone else to clean
up .
