       trying to get an old(1950's maybe) winget mixer and an
       old(1960's maybe)all british wonder mixer working.lister in one
       and petter in the other.all fee and turning but no spark on
       either.as they've been stood for over 30 years do the mag s need
       re polarising or some magic from the past.any ideas

       Is the engine a Lister D - tall upright rectangular, with large
       flywheel. There are several groups of facebook for these
       engines.

       Most likely will be the magnetos need a quick rebuild. There are
       a few folk out there who do this just Google “magneto rebuild
       near me”

       cheers chaps,it does seem to be a lister d in one.mag rebuild
       next then.was given both mixers to build our extension,towed
       them home(cast iron whheels) and freed everything up ,not bad
       after standing outside for twenty odd years.be good to see them
       work .would post a pic but our internet is too slow to upload
       photo s smart stuff

       petter A1 in the winget.just gone half's on a benford mantis so
       digging out  begun.mag's on mixers still need sorting ,may try
       old series condensers first as lister condensers on ebay are 49
       quid

       Worth taking the mags off and sticking th in a warm dry place
       for a week or so (airing cupboard etc)
       They often get damp in the windings when they've been stood for
       for a while....
       Worth a try at least.
