The Fen Fleet - Past and Present

Just to scare myself, here goes a list of those that have passed
through the gates, and the pair that remain.
My first Leafer. An very late ex MOD Series 3. Bought it with a
knackered gearbox and very shabby paint. After fitting a
reasonable box and a bulk deal on some JCB yellow paint. I ended
up with this:

Earlier incarnation, pre-painting. Out felling some 100' poplars
with a pal.

Ran it for a couple of years, but chassis was fairly terminal.
So picked up a 2a and rebuilt it:

Had it for a few years, during which it had a 2.25p then a V8.
Was huge fun with the V8. Ended up selling it with the original
engine to a chap not far away. Would love to know where it is
now. It is the only one I have really missed after selling.
In the meantime I rebuilt a series 2 for Mrs FT. Hattie was much
loved, but not getting used so much in the end, so was sold and
replaced with a Moggy Minor that we still have.

Decided we needed something bigger for a while so picked up a
late 2a Stationwagon and fitted it with a tdi.

Went all over the UK and some of Europe in it. Drivetrain was
well sorted, but rest was a bit hanging. Would love to know
where it is now. Sold it to and odd chap from Manchester.
Then bought and put a Series 1 88 back on the road:

Sold this on after picking up a project 80", but more about that
later...
During the above, I also owned these two for a short spell. Both
without MOT and sold on as road worthy:

This one had a dead 2.25d and rusty chassis. After 'some'
welding and fitting a 2.5 NAD, it went to live in Suffolk.

Jeez you have been busy mate, I can remember all bar the first
yellow beastie, which would have been just about when I first
took my lightwieght off the road to "do a few jobs" ..........
mmmmmm I must get around to finishing those FEW jobs ;D
It should be said too, that you've done all of these to a
standard aspired to by many FT #thumbs up# ;)

A great fleet. I did like FenBus and Diet Cheese. Was the 88 on
the 8 spokes the one that was the winch bitch at sibertotf ?

I have a great ( if a little scary ) memory of following the
FenBus up an icy 1 in 4 track in Wales whilst stuck in 2WD,
bloody made it too! ;D

It was an 'exciting' icey hill climb....damn you free wheel
hubs!
Yes, the little green S3 was winch bitch at Sinbertoft. Gay
wheels had gone by then too.

I she still a soft top? As I know they were thinking of fitting
a hardtop and seatbelts.
Nice that she is getting used though.
