drll Thanks, Ian, will go through it and I'm sure we'll try to

So, it seems the planning bit is more or less finished, hope it
survives first contact with reality in mid-August 2016.
I've traced the route along Hadrian's Wall, down through the
southwest corner of North Pennines (Alston and the Killhope
museum) and again south through Yorkshire Dales (places around
Hawes and a trek up Whernside from Ribblehead Viaduct), then
back up to Flamborough via York and Stamford Bridge, north
through Whitby and a stopover at the cliffs near Staithes.
Looking forward to the trip a lot. Thanks to Icey and Redwinch
for their contribution, see you at LATP fnky

Ahhhh Staithes .....
Well worth a looksy at Trig 49 campsite (Set in a old WW1 army
training camp complete with wooded built bunk houses right over
the top of Staithes ....
Quirky BUT fab ...gate from the campsite leads down into the
fantastic spot of Staithes Village )
10 out of 10 on the Icey meter ....

Hmm, fossil fuel burning and fossil collecting looks like a good
match - kids would love that. Is that somewhere along the cost
at Port Mulgrave, off Cleveland Way?
The Trig 49 campsite looks nice as well, thanks for the tips!
