I can see the nice trucks at the HLRC website, looks shiny, but
their prices were at the beginning of all the price nonsense and
       haven't improved.
Visiting a LR restorer would be interesting, though, by the time
we arrive there we might need restoring our trucks ;D

Can help out with a few nice lanes in Northumberland/County
Durham. You could try Beamish museum and/or Locomotion (the
national railway museum in the north). I volunteer at the
railway museum and could arrange a bit of a tour and access to
some of the cabs?? (That goes for anyone on the forum who may be
in the area by the way)

It would be great to do both events, but unfortunately we'll
have just two weeks to fit this into :-[

I've looked up campsites for the eastern leg of the journey
along the coast from Flamborough to Newcastle - Wold Farm near
Flamborough and Broadings Farm off Whitby, but can't find any
campsites southeast of Carlisle that would look welcoming or at
least wouldn't be too expensive - anyone has any tips for
campsites in North Pennines or Yorkshire Dales area?

Hope you make it, Jan, can sort you out with some easy lanes in
the Yorkshire dales, would be able to come with you, plenty of
       good campsites available whoo [/quote]
Ian, could you point out some of those by location? I would like
to put together the western leg of our little tour - many
       thanks!
I bet our friend's Minerva will be the first one converted to a
       mini-camper ;D
