       Hello from Basingstoke!

Hello, new to the forum having found the link from the end of
Simon Pratchett's YouTube videos, which I have to say are quite
       inspiring!
       I have a 1973 Series 3 109, which started life as a 2.25 petrol,
had a Perkins 2.0 tdi for a while, and this summer got converted
to 3.9 V8 with carbs (seemed totally wrong to put injection in a
series). It's also now got an LT85 five speed box. Not my first
leafer, though, that was a 1964 (iirc) series 2 88 soft top that
my aunt bought on a whim and never used. I had a load of fun
until it got sold, then moved on to a series 3 88 hard too with
       a 3.5 V8. I've never actually even driven a coiler of any
description, now I come to think of it!
Looking to get out and about a bit and would be good to meet a
few of the fellow Series owners I keep waving to as we pass.
Also looking for another restoration project, preferably a
series 2 88 (or series 1 if I'm really dreaming). *any*
condition, the more knackered the better!
       Ian

Thanks for the warm welcome :)
I shockingly haven't taken any pics of her actually out and
about (I must fix that), but this is reasonably complete during
       the V8 conversion.

Looking pretty good so far, Mr Gadget :) She should have proven
herself by next year, so probably good timing. I'll be keeping
an eye out for upcoming stuff!
Glad to hear there are some local folks, I'll look forward to
seeing a few on the road! I literally have a garage full of S3
spares, and know these machine inside out, so if you're stuck
for something or have a question, just shout! All my work was
done on the drive, so I feel your pain there...
