Afternoon all,
I hope you are all well.
Last night we had a little virtual get-together. Myself, Joe
and Keith along with a couple of guinea-pigs tried out a Zoom
app that allowed us all to see each other, talk, and play
together. It was surprisingly easy. Although we cannot hear
everybody else whilst playing, I can be heard counting in the
songs and singing. Therefore, it gives you an opportunity to
sing and play, but perhaps more importantly to keep n contact
with friends at the club. Keith will be sending everyone an
Email with the details. I hope you like the idea. Whilst not
being perfect, it allows us all to find out how everyone is, it
allows us to practise and gives you something to do on a
Thursday night. I do hope you would like to join us.
As I say Keith will be contacting you soon.
Take care of yourselves, keep safe and keep strumming.

On Thursdays at 8 pm I am standing in the street clapping for
the NHS
I also took my hunting horn out and gave them a few good blasts.
Here’s something different —— Why not treat
your neighbours to a good old ukulele strum!!
Hope you’re all keeping well.

Hi Di,We did ok on Wednesday night with Bridgnorth club, it
works well as you say you can't hear everyone at the same time
but with some practice I reckon we could have some fun,and we
could stop for five mins at eight to clap for the NHS, cheers

Morning all,
Hope you’re all fit and well and looking forward to our
first “official” Thursday night Strumalong live from
“Chez Coseley” via “Chez Sedgley”. (From
our house via Keith’s)
But more about that later.
For those who can’t join us tonight, here is week 5s songs
to enjoy. If you need to hear them, then feel free to download
the mp3 versions as all of the songs were recorded and you can
play and sing along to them Enjoy!
Start off with a nice, gentle one, to warm you up.
Wooden Heart ❤️
Under the Moon of Love. (While we’re in the mood)
Ruby. ( You’ll have to imagine Terry’s “boom
bum, bum” if you don’t use the mp3)
They Call the Wind Mariah. Lovely, romantic song. Always
reminds me of Clint Eastwood. (Don’t forget to sing both
parts)
Bus Stop (practise that intro)
Girls, Girls, Girls (You have to be a bit quick at times)
Brightside of the Road. (Again you’ll have to sing both
parts)
And finally, to finish off, my favourite at the moment - Riptide
Hope you enjoy the selection.
As to tonight, we will probably be doing some of those live on
the Zoom app. We have quite a large group joining up to play and
sing together. For those not yet signed up, it allows you to
play along and see each other on line. We can chat with you too.
When we play together, you will only hear me and Joe, but it at
least allows you to play along. If anyone is interested in
joining us at 8:15 tonight. Download Zoom and contact Keith who
will send a link to allow you in. I hope that has explained it
ok. Look forward to seeing you tonight. If not, stay safe, keep
calm, and keep strummin.
Cheers all,
Di x

Morning all,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first virtual
Thursday Night Strumalong. It was a fun night. A little bit
confusing at times, and I’m told the screen froze for
awhile. Not sure why. But I think with more experience with the
“techie” bit, and a bit more practise, we can make
this a regular thing. I know a few people had problems with the
it, but we will help as much as we can. The important thing is
that if it was fun for you, and helped you with your playing
then it’s worth carrying on. If enough people are
interested then we will look into taking out a subscription with
Zoom. Let us know what you think. One thing I realised, well
two really,
A. Nobody will leave jumpers, scarves, false teeth or their
glasses behind. ( Ok, no false teeth) and
B. Nobody has to drive home! Bonus!
Anyway, as I say, thanks again and tell us if you will be
joining us next week. Or if you have any suggestions to improve
the running of the evening. We are having to learn new things
too.
Cheers everyone, stay safe
Di x

Hi Di, well done for last night mate I really enjoyed it and
appreciate the work you put into the night,it was the same when
Bridgnorth started with zoom but when they subscribed it seemed
to get easier to work with and they have been doing it for a
couple of weeks,so I think worth persevering,so hopefully see
you next Thursday,. Cheers Pete Wilkes
