Economic Plan for Covanellis

After a fair bit of thinking and conferring with citizens, the
Covanese government has come up with the following business plan
for our nation.
Stage 1 - Saving
The first stage of our economic plan will be to open services
selling botanical equipment, plants, plant seeds, aquascaping
equipment, acrylic nano tanks, and other high quality items. We
might also do business in the stock market, as well as online
advertising, and even physical advertising (should our
Rockhampton Base move be successful). Our goal is to save
$500,000 - $1M, or raise it from our citizens, in order to
purchase a large rural property to build our nation on.
Stage 2 - Land Purchase
Stage two of our economic plan will be to purchase land on which
to build our nation. Here in Australia, you can easily purchase
land that is over 10,000 acres for approximately $500K. We will
be looking for land in the Central Queensland - Central New
South Wales region, and preferably along the coast (although
this is unlikely, as land prices are very high in that area).
Stage 3 opt. 1 - Mining
Most of the land in Australia possesses mineral wealth, and even
if it isn't known yet, you could bet that any given property has
red soil, which indicates iron ore. We will open our property
for mining countries to mine on if they agree to sign our
contract for a minimum of 25% of the money earned on the land.
After all mining has been completed in a mine we choose, we will
ask the mining company to only fill it back up to a certain
point, and then pave the rest with concrete. We will later use
this to store the nations water. We hope that the mining efforts
will earn us $1Bn or more, however the next stage should
continue to give us money after our mineral wealth has run out.
Stage 4 - Secession
After mining efforts have been completed, and with a hoped-for
$1bn, Covanellis will make a bid for independence from
Australia. We will offer Australia our service of waste disposal
(as much as we can, but we will be realistic about it), in
return for independence. This should be very favourable to
Australia, as it means they will no longer need to pay as much
to dispose of some of its waste, and should convince the country
to allow us to seceed.
Stage 5 - Business and Water
Around the shell of the lake-to-be, Covanellis will plant trees
to secure the land, and prevent erosion, we will then offer up
plots of land on 99 year business leases, with the condition
that businesses develop the land as they please (in accordance
to the Covanellis building standards and requirements, of
course). Should these companies wish to give up the land
prematurely to the lease end, they must notify the Covanese
government 3 years in advance, and the Covanese government will
pay them back for their building expenses along with an
additional 10% for doing business in Covanellis. As these
businesses are being build, the Covanese government will be
paving roads and gutters, and connecting all water drainage in
the country to the lake (to be named Lake Meypaulz), and
building a water treatment plant nearby. We will also spend some
of our money making waste disposal areas in which organic waste
can be converted to ethanol and water (this water will also be
pumped to the lake).
Our business figure is that Education, Food, Water, Sewerage and
Public transport is all free in return for a persons free labor
to their employer. This encourages a company to set up factories
and business headquarters in Covanellis (Our business tax will
be 20%), as it eliminates approximately 40% of a companies
expenses, thus maximizing company profit and the benefits of
doing business in Covanellis. The government will also provide
each working citizen with retirement credits and some
international purchases money, with the amount depending on job
difficulty and productivity. In order to ease state pressure to
supply the people with food, there are significant benefits to
growing most or all of your food at home, which is an extra
$10000 per person, per year for growing all food, and a range of
money amounts depending on other food production quantities. If
you have any extra questions, please ask, as this could take
much longer to explain fully.
Stage 4 - Development
Any leftover money from our mining endeavors as well as the
money made from the business tax and GST will go into the
development of public infrastructure such as schools, hospitals,
vertical farms and housing, as well as government businesses,
which will supply a large amount of the nations GDP.
