Micronational Advancement Award
By: Covanese Republic Date: November 15, 2014, 10:42 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Hello all, and thank you for taking the time to read this
thread!
I propose a new Micronational award for Micronational
advancement.
I suggest that there will be a voting period of one month, in
which the leader of all nations involved will vote on which
micronation has advanced the most economically, influentially,
politically, scientifically, technologically and in capability
since the last voting period. Only nations involved in the
voting can vote, only secessionist micronations can be voted on,
and a nation cannot vote for itself.
I hope that the creation of these awards will prompt both new
and experienced micronations to begin advancing the listed
attributes, which will in turn bring them closer to their goal
of recognition in the international community. It will also help
to highlight the truly special micronationalists among us, and
their true potential as leaders and advancers of nations.
I would very much like to hear people's thoughts on this, as I
truly believe that it could greatly expedite Micronational
advancement levels. Let me know your thoughts and whether you
would participate or not!

Great! How about some form of insignia for a main contributor to
the advancement in secessionism and micronationalism? The ribbon
bar could look something like the attachment.

Perhapse a coin made of silver or another precious metal could
be minted specially for giving out as awards, or even just a
certificate.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by an insignia. Care to
elaborate?

Well, not that I am a person who needs to have recognition for
what they have done, but there is, in my experience, a broad
range of people that like to show off their services by sporting
medals and badges, and ribbon bars are just an item of insignia
I though would not be expensive if made.
Also, I sort of like designing ribbon bars (please don't ask
why, it can be quite tedious when all you have at your disposal
is PowerPoint).

Ok, but you would need to have colours to reprisent what field
the award is in, or to reprisent each field in the case of the
top award, for overall advancement.
I suggest the following:
Economically - Green and Yellow
Influentially - Blue and Red
Politically - Blue and Yellow
Scientifically - White and Green
Technologically - Black and Green
Overall Advancement - Green, Blue, Red, Black, White

Seems like a good concept to me. I'll design some sample ribbon
bars.

Ok, I look forward to seeing them.
Also, we need a way to ensure these awards are regarded as
important, prestigious awards, and are sought after by
Micronations both new and old. I suggest that as many known
secessionist Micronations are told about this as possible, and
asked if they would be willing to participate. The more
micronations that participate, the more competition there will
be, and the more prestigious the award will grow. It will also
increase significance of the advancements.

I quite agree to all the above.
Here are some prototypes for the ribbon bars.
I have to attach more in a separate post because it won't let me
add more than four attachments.

And here are the other ones.
I may have attached one twice.

I like them. May I ask, however, what the symbol is that looks a
bit like a piece of driftwood and is on a lot of them?
