Sponsored 2020 Amateur Pool Comp - Sunday 9th Feb

Annual Sponsored Event. Open to SDPL members registered for
current Winter or 2019 summer leagues.
£10 entry - Minimum £500 prize money guaranteed.
To be held at SDPL sponsors Rayleigh Lanes Pool & Snooker Club
from 11am on Sunday 9th February.
Rayleigh Lanes are also adding £250 to the prize pot.
Maximum 64 entries. Format, subject to entry numbers, will
either be a group round robin or double elimination KO
tournament. All entrants guaranteed at least two race to 4
matches plus the option to enter a plate competition on the day.
Early rounds race to 3 or 4 dependent on format,
Semi's Race to 5
Final Race to 6.
(1 frame start for Div 1 & 2 players).
Trophies for Winner / Runner up. Prize money down to losing
Quarter finalists subject to minimum 32 entrants.
Registration - Entries please by 31st January to avoid
disappointment either to me or Brett Matson at venue. Payments
as usual direct to SDPL league account 03890498 Sort Code
30-97-84. Quote reference: Sponsors Comp.
All games to be played under WPA Blackball rules (NB. Shot
clocks will only apply for SF/Final matches).

A couple of updates in response to questions received.
1. This is a Singles KO Competition,
2. Flexible start times will be available on the day so players
who may have difficulty with an early start should say so when
entering. There will be later start/s to avoid players having
too long a wait at the start of the event,
3. A draw at the Lanes will be held on a separate date to be
advertised here. In addition to firming up numbers this is the
reason for entries being required by 4th Feb latest (extended
from 31/1).

We had 32 participants for this competition, they were split
into 8 groups of 4 players, with everyone playing each other &
the top 2 from each group progressing through to a straight
knockout.
All matches were a race to 4 frames (non Prem players got a 1
frame start) apart from the final which was 5.
